Director, Finance & University Grants

As the Director of Finance, Pat has the overall responsibility for the internal operations and financial management of IW, which includes oversight of the IS and Accounting departments.  Pat is also responsible for developing the annual financial plan, operating plan and budget for IW and is involved with other strategic projects as required.  In addition to these internal IW responsibilities, Pat is the Director of the University Innovation Grant program, a new IW program that addresses the funding gap at the universities between basic research activities and validation of the commercialization potential of a technology.  Pat also provides financial due diligence review for investment recommendations and supports the IW Portfolio Services Team in the areas of financial infrastructure, discipline and management.  Pat is also a member of IW’s internal investment committee.

Prior to joining IW, Pat had nearly twenty years of experience in executive financial management at public, private and startup technology companies, having served as acting treasurer at Dravo Corporation and as chief financial officer at Daxus Corporation and MediaSite, Inc.  Pat holds a B.A. and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
