Meredith Benedict

Investment Analyst, Energy Program

As an Investment Analyst for the Energy Program, Meredith assists in deal flow development, due diligence for investment candidates, and the investment decision-making process.  After IW makes an investment, she works with the management teams of Energy Program portfolio companies helping address critical business issues such as product and business development, fundraising, sales and marketing, and strategic planning.  In addition, Meredith helps manage the Energy Program, including participation in strategy development, operations, and outreach efforts.

Prior to her current role, Meredith was a Market Analyst with AlphaLab, an Innovation Works’ program for web, mobile, and entertainment technology startups.  As a Market Analyst, Meredith worked closely with AlphaLab companies to help them develop their business and product strategies.  She provided strategic market guidance to the AlphaLab companies and assisted them in obtaining user feedback which guided the development of their products.  Meredith also helped manage AlphaLab operations including the company selection process, facility logistics, marketing efforts, and event planning.

Before working with Innovation Works, Meredith was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs at the Coro Center for Civic Leadership.  In this role, she worked with local political, business, and nonprofit leaders and learned leadership and management skills.

Meredith holds a BA in American Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University.
