Through our ongoing relationships with area universities, IW identifies talented graduate-level students who show high potential in business, engineering and other in-demand fields, for placement as interns in regional companies.
Technology Startups
IW’s intern program has been one of the most widely utilized services by companies we advise. We identify and select high-caliber MBA students from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School to provide high-quality talent to fill specific research and other needs at early-stage companies. Our Executive in Residences work closely with the company and the intern to identify discrete needs and goals, and to ensure the interns are adding high value that is insightful and relevant to a company’s next steps.
Manufacturers
Working in collaboration with Catalyst Connection, IW has expanded the scope of its internship program to provide summer interns for existing manufacturing companies. The program is already showing signs of success. Since 2005, IW and Catalyst Connection have placed 70 interns with more than 50 manufacturing companies in southwestern Pennsylvania, touching companies in all nine counties served by IW.
