What makes you the best person for your role?
My passion for life science innovation and supporting founders! Before joining IW, I worked at two great universities’ technology transfer offices; the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and University of Pittsburgh. In Colorado, I built and run a biotech accelerator program in collaboration with Stanford University to help faculty in developing drugs, medical devices and diagnostic tools. I enjoyed working with academic founders and helping them understand processes for developing life science products and setting up new ventures. I have a career that spans across continents and various industries, which I think gives me a broader perspective and ability to communicate with diverse groups.
What is your favorite thing about working with startups?
I truly enjoy and respect building things, solving problems, dynamism and creativity. Startups are an embodiment of it all.
What is your favorite thing about living and working in Pittsburgh?
Pittsburgh is such a resilient town, with a rich history. I love discovering different neighborhoods. But the most I like is the nature, the greenness and the ability to live so immersed in nature, while being so close to the city itself and all its offerings.
Where can we find you outside of work?
Exploring the playgrounds in town with my kids or discovering new restaurants in Pittsburgh.
