What makes you the best person for your role?
My ADHD got me in trouble a lot as a kid (and as an adult), but it also allows me to pivot very quickly. In a program with diverse startups and founders, and therefore, diverse needs, my ability to wear a lot of hats comes in handy often.
What is your favorite thing about working with startups?
The best thing about working with any company is feeling trusted. Companies aren’t just intangible things; they’re almost always central to how people make meaning in their lives. I tend to think this is even more true of startups, so working with startups gives me a sense of gratitude to founders who believe that I and my coworkers are worth trusting.
What is your favorite thing about living and working in Pittsburgh?
I applied at Pitt because I loved the Steelers, and they’re still my favorite thing about the city. That said, my favorite thing about everyday life has to be the diversity of experience. No matter what lifestyle you want to have, there’s a neighborhood here to accommodate you.
Where can we find you outside of work?
I spend most of my non-working hours with my wife at home or walking around our neighborhood, but I can always make it outside to spend time at the Waterfront AMC.
