Supporting you from your first stage to your next stage
Innovation Works’ intern program assists technology and manufacturing companies in
Southwestern Pennsylvania through supporting the hiring of interns from universities, colleges, coding boot camps, technical schools, and more.
Our program matches a diverse pool of students with our wide network of technology companies and manufacturers in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region. Past opportunities have included internships with life science, robotics, material, and manufacturing companies.
Each participating company may receive up to a maximum of $2,500 for work performed by one or more interns based on a 1:1 match from the employing company (the company must provide a minimum of $5,000 gross compensation to one or more interns to receive the maximum $2,500 intern reimbursement).
We aim to provide students valuable project-based work for their career development and give local companies the opportunity to engage with promising local talent.
Our Programs
Innovation Works partners with our IW Portfolio companies and manufacturing partners to get you paid for on-the-job experience. IW offers two internship programs: Diversity Intern Program and Manufacturing Intern Program.
Each participating company may receive up to a maximum of $2,500 for work performed by one or more interns based on a 1:1 match from the employing company (the company must provide a minimum of $5,000 gross compensation to one or more interns to receive the maximum $2,500 intern reimbursement).
Diversity & Inclusion Intern Program
The D/I Intern Program connects our IW Portfolio companies with students who have one or more of the following affiliations:
- Minority candidates
- Veteran candidates
- Candidates with disabilities
- Candidates who identify as women
- Candidates who identify as LGBTQIA
Recognizing that this unique opportunity could benefit early-stage technology companies outside of the IW portfolio, IW is opening up the program to technology companies within the region that meet the following criteria:
- Has been in operation for 20 years or less
- Employs fewer than 100 people
These criteria are similar to the makeup of companies within IW’s portfolio.
