Innovation Works, in partnership with the Keystone Space Collaborative, is thrilled to support the Keystone Space Innovation Challenge—a groundbreaking program funded by the Department of Community and Economic Development, designed to fund transformative advancements in space technology and-space research and development.
This challenge invites Pennsylvania-based companies or teams with strong state ties to submit their innovative ideas. Six winners will be awarded, with a total prize fund of $200,000. Two of the most promising concepts will each win a substantial $50,000 award, and four other standout concepts will win $25,000. Alongside this funding, participants will benefit from hands-on mentorship to help propel their concepts into reality.
“Southwestern PA is at the forefront of transforming humanity’s presence in space with programs like the Keystone Space Challenge and the Robotics Factory,” says Kevin Dowling, Managing Director of Hardware and the Robotics Factory at Innovation Works. “By fostering cutting-edge technologies and talent at the early stages, we are not just solving today’s challenges but paving the way for sustainable exploration.”
The first step of the Keystone Space Innovation Challenge is to submit business plans by January 17. Mentors are available to help applicants prepare their concepts and business plans. Furthermore, space-based research inspires novel approaches to biotechnology, drug discovery, and sustainability, fueling advances that benefit humanity.”
